Questions Poe would ask Ash Habib

🎙️ Open Questions for Ash Habib — From a Boxing Fan Who Believed in the Vision

Ash and I spoke on a Zoom call deeply about his vision for Undisputed—and it aligned with many of the wishlist ideas I had been developing for years. He understood boxing. He wanted realism. He wanted to create something that respected the sport, its fans, and the boxers themselves.

That’s why what’s happened since then is so confusing and, honestly, disheartening.

The community that once believed in Undisputed is left wondering:

  • Where did that vision go?

  • Why are the voices asking for the realism we were promised being silenced, deflected, or talked down to?

  • What happened behind the scenes to change course?

So here are the questions I would respectfully and sincerely ask Ash Habib today—not out of malice, but out of care for the game, the sport, and the loyal fanbase that supported this project from Day One.

🔍 Category 1: Vision and Leadership

1. “Ash, what happened to your original vision for Undisputed?”

The early trailers and conversations—even our own call—centered on realism, simulation, and honoring the sport of boxing. Now the direction feels muddled. Was it pressure from within? A compromise? A loss of creative control?

2. “If Turki Alalshikh believed in boxing games and realism, why wasn’t he brought on as an investor to help preserve the game’s identity?”

With his resources and passion, Turki could have helped reinforce your vision instead of the game drifting into something else.

3. “Do you still feel like this is your game and your vision—or has someone else taken creative control behind the curtain?”

Many of us supported Undisputed because of your direction. But the tone, priorities, and philosophy now feel disconnected from what you and I originally discussed.

🧠 Category 2: Community Treatment and Transparency

4. “Why are passionate fans in the Discord server treated like ignorant or naïve children—even if they understand game development and boxing deeply?”

Some of these fans have worked in studios or laced up gloves. Yet they’re dismissed, muted, or told they don’t understand the process.

5. “Why is there so much psychological deflection and ‘Jedi mind trick’ language used in official replies?”

Fans are noticing replies that dodge key questions or subtly reframe valid criticism. It feels like gaslighting, not community management.

6. “Do you honestly believe your mod and comms team is helping the image of the game—or hurting it with tone-deaf or evasive responses?”

There’s a huge difference between moderation and manipulation. People can feel the difference, and it’s hurting your credibility.

🧩 Category 3: Internal Development and Decision-Making

7. “What caused critical features—like referee presence, clinch mechanics, offline realism modes, and AI tendencies—to be delayed, minimized, or scrapped?”

These were pillars of your original vision. The fans remember that. They were never ‘niche’ features—they were promises.

8. “Why isn’t the dev team more publicly present to clarify direction and technical limitations?”

Studios like CDPR, Respawn, and even 2K have leads who speak directly to fans. Where are the gameplay leads or feature owners here?

9. “Why are online casual players being prioritized over the loyal, realism-driven offline audience who helped build the foundation of this project?”

This isn’t about ‘gatekeeping.’ It’s about honoring the base that supported the simulation dream when no one else believed it could work.

🗣️ Final Reflections and Candid Closer

10. “Ash, if you could go back and undo one decision during Undisputed’s development—what would it be?”

11. “Do you still believe in the vision we discussed—or has the company culture changed so much that you no longer recognize the game?”

12. “Would you consider bringing in more boxing historians, trainers, fighters, and sim-focused devs to help realign the game with its roots?”

💬 Why This Matters

These questions aren’t coming from a place of hate—they come from someone who once sat across a Zoom call with the founder of this game, excited to help bring a simulation boxing dream to life.

Now that dream feels like it’s being erased.
And the fans—your realest fans—deserve honest answers.

“WHY BOXING GAMES NEED REAL PUNCHING STYLES” 1. The Core Problem With Boxing Games Most boxing games don’t actually simulate how boxers punch — they just assign damage values. Two boxers can look different but feel identical once you’re throwing punches. Punches are treated as buttons, not techniques. This removes identity, strategy, and long-term mastery. Key Point: If punching feels the same, every boxer becomes the same. 2. What “Customizable Punching Styles” Really Means This isn’t just cosmetic animations. It’s a system where each punch has behavior, intent, risk, and context . Punches differ in: Speed Telegraphing Fatigue cost Recovery Counter vulnerability Combo behavior Analogy: Most games give you different guns with the same recoil. This system gives you different shooting mechanics entirely. 3. Why 100 Punches Actually Makes Sense Boxing isn’t just jab, cross, hook, uppercut. A flicker jab is not the...
